Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
Personal Statement
In my installations, I create unique environments to evoke individual, intimate
experiences. I expose my audience to the series of circumstances linked to a particular
personal psychological and physical reminiscence of a place, event or feeling. The pieces are minimalistic, elusive and often uneasy to capture. They strongly reflect my interest in and fascination with abstract materials and with natural forces such as air, light/color, temperature, and sound.
When working with video, I use my own body almost exclusively. Its the most private and intimate material available. I use it to tell stories, communicate with or influence my audience. Extensive research is an important component of preparing these projects.
I continuously investigate the mechanics and limits of human perception and interaction.
My two dimensional projects such as drawings, prints and other flat works utilize my artistic background in new media and technology. I employ my own coding to generate a large body of work that I later reduce to several pieces to work with. These works are often abstract using simple geometrical forms that I honor and admire.
I work in "open series" to give myself a possibility to explore the area fully with an option of returning in the future from a different perspective.
