Brief Biography & Artistic Journey
Serena Singh embodies color and texture, and leaving no space on her canvas, as she paints for her audience, a medley of vibrant tones!
Born in Basel, Switzerland, Serena connected with drawing at an early age as she was fascinated by the image of the human figures.
In her latest works she explores the topic of „identity“ and „self-discovery“ and takes a critical look at the individualism of today’s society.
The painted subjects often have one or more shadows. These stand for the aura and the different identities that a person assumes in society. The colors in Singh's vivid paintings are inspired by her swiss-indian upbringing.
She mixes most colours with a base tone of white, providing the paintings with a "retro look". It also reinforces the aesthetics of a dream world in which the characters live and gives her paintings their distinctive look.
Serena was a student at the School of Art Basel and holds a BA in Visual and Corporate Communication from the Academy of Fashion and Design in Munich, Germany.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
Personal Statement
The loss of my father in a tragic way has shaken and changed me in my being. In order to process my grief, I created an alter ego in the form of a fighter figure that stands for my higher self. It is reflective and made of an indestructible material. This figure stands for resurrection and strength.
I want to give strength to myself and all those out there who have to cope with adversity.
