Brief Biography & Artistic Journey

Artist Clari Netzer was born in Monterrey, N.L, México. She is the youngest daughter of

Rumanian Jews and Holocaust survivors who immigrated to México in mid 1950's.

Self-taught artist discovered her passion for painting and art early. In México she was attracted by the Primitive Art of different cultures that lived in ancient México, the folklore and Mexican Art History, this influence is considerably noticeable in her artworks and in her activities as an Israeli Artist today.

After graduated in B.A in Communication Sciences she immigrated to Israel in 1983. Since 2007 her paintings have been published and showcased in exhibitions in Israel and abroad and can be found in private and public collections.

Along to being a Professional Artist, Clari Netzer has initiated and coordinated artistic projects including lectures and workshops, revealing the cultural richness of Mexican art and promoting the role of women in the art. Her artistic activities aimed to the understanding of the double identity and the basic need of the immigrant to express and give expression to his/her feelings, to search for meaning, want to be part of a group and to share experiences with others.

Clari Netzer currently lives and works in Carmiel.

Artist Statement

"My paintings are characterized by dualism and color rooted in Mexico where I grew up. I make use of contrasting elements which eventually reach balance and harmony. I intend to denote a state of two parts, a view about the relationship between mind and matter where two opposites co-exist in harmony.

I am an artist with a dual identity - Israeli/Mexican, specializing in colorful abstract paintings with dual elements, in which there is an emphasis on values and symbols hidden in a pictorial narrative with a message of "repair", artworks that wish for a better world than it is today.

I am in a constant search for rhythm and abstract construction, using color and shapes that will evoke feelings and present the dual meanings that characterize me. Some of the shapes are created randomly by meeting the spaces between the lines; others are subject to an orderly rule. Disorder with "very neat" geometric figures that repeat themselves like folded corners, a repeating wave, X's that form a pair of wings that I wish to set free and yet, the meanings are left to the viewer's free will."

Our Mission and Actions

At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.

By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
