Brief Bio
Melinda is a London based artist, who studied Painting at the University of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She has exhibited her work across Europe and the United States.
Public Work
1999-2012) | Fresco Painting of 13 churches of Transylvania, Romania, executed in Neo Byzantine Style.
Artist Statement
My artistic journey is deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Eastern European art, a reflection of my upbringing and education in painting in Romania. The primary catalyst for my work, however, stems from a profound engagement with Analytical Psychology, particularly the exploration into the depths that bestow meaning upon our lives. This fascination with the human psyche's intricate layers and complexities profoundly influences my creative expression.
At the core of my artistic endeavors lies an intense focus on the human condition and the internal experiences that mold our reality amid the external pressures and societal expectations we face. I am captivated by the internal conflicts and contrasts that emerge as we navigate these challenges. My artwork aims to capture and illuminate these profound internal struggles.
In my creative process, I accord equal significance to color and form. Color is my tool for evoking specific emotions and atmospheres, while the deconstruction of form aids in achieving a delicate balance between figuration and abstraction. This method enables me to delve into and articulate the fluidity and ambiguity of human identity and experience.
Ultimately, my work is an intimate exploration of the internal landscapes that define us. It is a journey aimed at uncovering and conveying the essence of our shared human experience.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
