Our Mission and Actions

At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.

By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.

Artist Statement

I believe people are fragments of forgotten memories that need to be remembered to impart meaning to everyone's life. In my work, I have sought these missing pieces—elements that reflect a part of me like a mirror, or that respond to the social and political issues surrounding me, infusing new meaning into the experiences we have endured. In my continual engagement with photographs, which serve as vessels of memory, the "past" reveals itself to me as a lost form of happiness. Each foray into my family photo series leads me to realize that what I call "life" seems as if we have been deprived of a precious gift. The search for the coordinates of this elusive gift is marked by mourning, joy, and sometimes despair about a future that remains uncertain. What greater motivation than this "absence of hope" to drive my fear of forgetting, compelling me to delve deeper into our collective memory to unearth and constantly reinterpret the remnants of an identity I profoundly miss?

It can be said that my works express a nostalgia for what was once grand. In the next phase of my career, I plan to continue exploring family albums while also experimenting with alternative photography and printing techniques such as cyanotype, eco-printing, gel printing, and salt printing, among others.

I am keenly interested in participating in residencies (such as those offered by Cité), festivals, and prestigious exhibitions. My greatest aspiration is to showcase and sell my work in major museums and to be recognized among the top 100 influential female photographers in the world.
