Brief Biography | Artistic Background
Tove Hertzberg 1976 - Artist
I was born creative and have made a living as an artist full-time since January 2012. Located in the southern coast of Norway, I capitalises on my proximity to water to explore one of the themes most important in my paintings – the sea. I creating images that are simultaneously feminine, strong, and vulnerable.
I work in large formats. What preoccupies me is the sea and the woman, and what they have in common. I explore the feminine and life-giving potential that is available and perhaps unused. Emphasize qualities and bring in balance. Let art have a function and a communication.
Qualities explored are vulnerable, strong and patient. I want to portray the female from the inside out. The vulnerable can be destroyed if it is not valued. The strong that brings forth life, that is life-giving. Here I draw parallels between the sea and the women. And the patient, unbalanced feminine, against a masculine world.

Our Mission and Actions
At THE ART HUB, our mission is initially focused on addressing a profound imbalance within the art world, specifically catering to women artists. In the current landscape, a mere 5% to 15% of artworks traded at auctions are created by women, starkly contrasted by the overwhelming 85% to 95% of works by male artists. This disparity is not only confined to auctions but is also prevalent in exhibitions, where male-created art significantly overshadows that of their female counterparts.
By concentrating our efforts on female artists, THE ART HUB aims to counteract this imbalance and champion women within the art community. This initiative is designed to amplify the visibility of women artists, making their creations more accessible to a wider audience, and ultimately striving for a more balanced representation of genders within art auctions and exhibitions. By prioritizing women in art, our platform boldly advocates for equality and diversity within the art sector, signaling a commitment to reshaping and enriching the cultural landscape.
Personal Statement | Visions and Goals
Art is emotion! That is why I believe that «Art is the last form for hope», as it stands today. I live to to create a contrast to the falsified. I am aiming to bring forth art where life-giving and beauty have their place. I want to create good feelings in this world, helping people to remember who we are. We are life!
And this is how I intend to save the world, with art!
